World Telugu Conference 2017: Vice-President M Venkaiah Naidu has inaugurated the World Telugu Conference-2017 (WTC) on Friday, 15th December. During the WTC 2017, he expressed his valuable views of Telugu language. While speaking at the WTC inaugural function M Venkaiah Naidu has said that the Telugu language must be protected from the onslaught by the other languages. He further mentioned that Andhra Pradesh and Telangana states must unitedly focus on protecting the Telugu language from the attack of English. Also, he mentioned that the Telugu language is in the risk due to the linkage of education with the job opportunities, where English is the mandatory language. And also, Venkaiah Naidu Says, “Make Telugu must for jobs”.
“The link between education and job opportunities is casting a shadow on the future of the Telugu language. This is a serious issue to be looked into,” he said.
World Telugu Conference-2017 (WTC)- A Tribute to Telugu
Vice-President Venkaiah Naidu has said that AP and Telangana CMs must give preference to the mother tongue while providing the job opportunities.
Citing governor ESL Narasimhan’s speech in Telugu, Venkaiah Naidu said: “Make it compulsory for everyone who wants to work in Telangana to learn and speak Telugu. There is no other way, but to enforce it,” he said.

He also applauded Telangana Chief Minister KCR for making Telugu as a compulsory subject till 12th class. Telangana Chief Minister KCR has also surprised every one of the audience with his 45 minutes adorable speech with poems, songs, and sayings. Revising his school days, KCR felt emotional and appreciated the efforts of all teachers for their contribution to inflicting the best education. In WTC 2017, Telangana CM KCR also has felicitated Mallikarjuna Sharma, teacher, for his remarkable work in his position.
CM KCR said that “It was good luck to have great teachers who have shaped my personality and kindled interest in Telugu language. At the age of 12, I started writing small poems, “he said.
