Rasta Roko Conducted For Andhra Pradesh Special Status: As was declared yesterday, all opposition parties in AP – forewarned a call to block the national highways on Thursday from10am to noon, in protest against the defiance of special category status (SCS) to the state by the central government. A never expected move occurred when TDP also walked in and joined the rally to support this blockade. It sure is a shock to BJP as TDP has not entirely withdrawn its support to BJP yesterday officially yet. CM Chandrababu Naidu to support his stance had asked his TDP leaders to support the protest. The Janasena Party sent jitters down the spines of TDP leaders.

All opposition parties including Andhra Pradesh ruling party have brought on the national highways in AP to a standstill, thus TDP saved its face value. Over two hours the entire came to a standstill – bumper to bumper. Janasena Party as declared yesterday, Congress, YSR Congress, CPI, and CPM had given the call, while the Janasena Party Chief Pawan Kalyan stayed away for the reasons not known.
TDP’s support which was not declared till the last minute surprised everybody. Since TDP got involved during the last minute, it is the ruling party in Andhra Pradesh the protest was covered under the tight security and went on peacefully for those two hours (10 am till noon). The CM Naidu of examples, if not exemplary, said, “India should have Japan’s trade union culture, where people work for more hours to express their protest.”
YSRCP – Jagan Mohan Reddy in his redundant rhetoric blame-game said, “CM Naidu is solely being responsible for Centre not granting Special category Status (SCS) to AP.
Jagan mentioned CM Chandrababu Naidu; having heard the voice of public anger candid idly changed his stance and based on his personal surveys joined the movement at the 11th hour for his selfish reasons.
The protest showed its effect on the public life.
There were long snarls of vehicular traffic stranded for many kilometers. Ambulances and fire trucks were caught amidst the traffic.
Devineni Avinash, under his aggressive, stood out in his leading protest with 100s and 1000s of people got aggressive and brought the traffic standstill in Vijayawada to prove the presence of Telugu Desam – Party’s prowess.
In other parts of the states people from – Nellore, Kurnool, Visakhapatnam, and Guntur came onto the roads, but under the strict guidelines of CM Chandrababu Naidu, the scheduled Rasta-Roko went on peacefully without any mishaps for the protest was completely under the police ‘Bandobast’
We just need to wait and get the repercussions of the rally from the Central Government in the evening.
