Padmaavat, the most controversial and the masterpiece of Sanjay Leela Bhansali finally got released on 25th January 2018. As per the verdict of the Supreme Court, the movie which was supposed to be released on 1st December 2017, at last, found its screening on 25th January 2018 amidst tight security. Despite hearing the decree of the highest court, film distributors in some states collectively tried to obstruct releasing the movie as it was reported to have hurt the sentiments of the cult of ‘Rajputs.’
Padmaavat makes its way with “Whopping Collections”
However, the movie – ‘Padmaavat’ passed all the protests of people in some parts of the country proved its prowess by collecting the whopping sum of 18 Crore Rupees on day one and 31 Crore Rupees on day two, reaching the total of Rs 53.50 crore including the initially paid previews on Wednesday evening that brought in Rs 4.25 crore. It’s noteworthy to find that – this total collection is a run of limited screening of the movie. Though cinema – lovers believed that the movie could have better openings, it managed to get a decent talk. The film had made it extremely well in Mumbai and Andhra Pradesh.
The collections since its first screening can speak about the success of the movie. The star cast of Padmaavat – Deepika Padukone, Shahid Kapoor and Ranveer Singh in lead roles thrilled the audience with their utmost performance. The entire movie stood up to the standards of Sanjay Leela Bansali. The government machinery was given orders by the Supreme Court to deploy additional police forces to help protect the interest of ‘Indian Cinema Industry.’ With the support of the government protection, this movie is expected to wipe off all the collection – records set forth so far.
The story of the movie moves around Rani Padmavati (Deepika Padukone) – the wife of Maharawal Ratan Singh (Shahid Kapoor), who is acknowledged to have the beauty and bravery during the 13th century of India. The Sultan of Delhi, the dictator ‘Alauddin Khilji’ (Ranveer Singh), gets obsessed with her and goes out of his way – wanting to meet his greed. He declares a war against the invincible fortress of Chittorgarh, fails to capture it and goes home empty handed. The insatiate Sultan Khilji attacks Chittor again with cruel force. A terrifying war takes place between the two kingdoms. Sultan Khilji, almost at the edge of winning the fortress Chittor and the queen-Padmaavat but in vain as the queen opts to sacrifice herself to protect her dignity.
