Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main is the National level examination organized by Central Board of Secondary Education annually. The Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) approves permission to CBSE to organize the JEE main examination. JEE Main 2018 Online and Offline Examination- Brief Details 

JEE Main 2018 is classified into Paper 1 and Paper 2.

  • JEE Main Paper 1: For admission to B.E / B.Tech Programs
  • JEE Main Paper 2: For Admission to B.Arch / B.Plan Courses
  • Offline JEE Main Examination (Pen -Paper-based) is scheduled on 8th April from 09:30 am to 12:30 pm in the morning.
  • Online JEE Main Examination (Computer Based) is scheduled on 15th and 16th April between 09:30 am to 12:30 pm
  • JEE Main Abroad Examination Centres: Singapore, Colombo, Qatar, Dubai, Riyadh, Kathmandu, Sharjah, Muscat, and Dhaka.

JEE Main Eligibility Criteria 2018

Educational Qualification:

Applicants must qualify the Intermediate/Plus 2/equivalent examinations with 65% above aggregate marks from any recognized University/Board.

The MHRD has decided that students must qualify the JEE Main with a minimum of 75% to get admission in IIT, NIT, IIIT, and CFTI.

Age Limit:

Candidate’s DOB should fall on or after 01st October 1993 (for general candidates) and 01, October-1988 (for candidates from SC, ST, and PWD category).

Exam pattern:

  • Paper 1 consists of total 90 objective type questions from Chemistry, Physics, & Mathematics.
  • Paper 2 consist of total 82 questions from Mathematics, aptitude test, and drawing test.
  • Each section contains different amount of questions.
How to Apply for JEE Main 2018:

At first, all the candidates who are willing to apply for JEE Main 2018 should download the information bulletin of JEE Main 2018 and read the complete details and ensure that you meet the eligibility criteria.

After reading the information and instructions keep the necessary documents along with scanned copies of photo, signature and left-hand thumb impression in JPG format ready with you to apply online.

Now, the candidates have to register by creating a password before filling application. The password should be in between 8 and 13 characters, one capital letter, one small letter, one special character and one number.

Then, follow the instructions carefully given in bulletin and fill the application form with complete details and upload all the documents as necessary and then submit the application. But, before submission the candidates need to make sure that all the details are correct as changes can’t be done later.

Once the application form is submitted, you need to pay the application fee either through e-challan or debit/credit card.

Once the fee payment is completed, the candidates need to download the acknowledgement and save it for future reference.
